Lexia Quick Reading Test - Years 1-12
The Lexia Quick Reading Test is a computerized
diagnostic reading assessment program that quickly and effectively
evaluates students’ decoding skills, their ability to
use word attack strategies, and their automaticity with sight
words. A teacher or other adult administers the 5 to 8 minute
test to a student one-on-one.
After the student takes the test, the
computer generates at-a-glance reports in both graphic and
tabular form to indicate the students’ strengths and
weaknesses in each skill area. The reports allow the teacher
to easily recognize the specific areas where practice or instruction
is needed for an individual or even an entire class.
The Lexia Quick Reading Test, which
can track up to 90 students, creates an electronic Individualized
Education Plan (IEP) for each student and suggests beneficial
activities and units in Lexia’s skill development software
according to the student’s needs. With the Lexia Quick
Reading Test, the teacher immediately clearly recognizes where
to concentrate instruction, allowing for a curriculum better
suited to the children’s needs.
